Is a unique ID to activate the functions in a system/system network. It is contained in the function as well as in the hardware activation file.
The activation ID is generated with the first creation of the function activation file.
This ID is used to link the function activation files to the hardware (central exchange boards) of a system/system network. The activation ID stays the same for the whole life cycle of the system/system network.
Function Activation
Is a file which contains the functions the customer is allowed to use in his system/system network. Each file contains a unique ID for a system network, the so-called activation ID.
For each system, the functions requested are identified and a function activation file is created via a software tool. Besides the configuration (ida file), this file is uploaded to each central exchange board (DXC).
The function activation file determines the functional range for each system /system network.
Together with the hardware activation file the customer can only use the system functions he has already bought. To do this, both files must be uploaded to each central exchange board of the system network.
Hardware Activation
Is a file which contains the hardware identifier of the central exchange board (MAC address). It also contains the unique ID for the system network (activation ID).
The hardware identifiers (MAC addresses) of the central exchange boards of a system/system network are entered into a software tool together with the activation ID. This software tool creates one hardware activation file for each hardware identifier (one file for each DXC).
This file is used to authorize the hardware in a system/system network to use the functions defined (hardware activation). Only those central exchange units which were granted the authorization can execute the functions contained in the function activation file.
System name
It is the name for the system which belongs to the activation ID.
An indiviual name can be assigned to every activation ID respectively every system over the web interface of the INDUSTRONIC Activation Portal.
The name should help to identify the systems inside the INDUSTRONIC activation portal. Ideally the given system name does also descripe the location or the purpose of the system e.g. 'Plant PA System', 'Administration Building', 'Hall 13'.
